About

Hello! I’m Megan.

I’m so happy you’re here checking out my blog! I have a strong desire to not let life just happen – I want to live my life on purpose. I believe we can create the life we desire if we intentionally build it. This means our habits, our self-talk, our actions, and our connections with others. I hope to provide you with resources, perspectives, and a tool kit to construct a happy and healthy life. So let’s go!

A little more about me

I was born and raised in Michigan, but moved to St Louis to go to Washington Univ. in St. Louis. I loved being in the heart of the city – walking distance to lots of restaurants, the Metrolink system, and all Forest Park has to offer.

College is where my health and fitness journey really began (besides a few classes in high school). I explored the gym, doing lots of Pinterest searching for workouts and routines. I used the outstanding dining halls to figure out how to like broccoli and expand my palate. By junior year, I started learning more about lifting weights and really enjoyed it. The goal was always to form habits I could maintain once I was in the “real world.”

After graduating, I moved across Missouri to Kansas City. KC has a special place in my heart. My boyfriend and I formed some strong relationships during our 3 years there, immersed ourselves in the food and brewery scene, and started figuring out this whole “adulting” thing.

My family (mainly my sweet niece and nephew) drew me back to the Mitten fall of 2018. Luckily, my job has lots of opportunities up here and moving the Madison Heights/Warren/Hazel Park was a whole new place despite being an hour away from where I grew up. It’s been great being back near old friends and family!

My husband and I got engaged December 2019 and planned a fall 2020 wedding. The pandemic forced us to postpone the big celebration a year, but we had a “minimony” on the original date in a park with just immediate family and close friends. My heart goes out to COVID brides! We got lucky and were able to easily postpone and not lose money or anything, and finally celebrated with the full guest list in Sept 2021.

Other things that make me smile

Hazelnut coffee. Being on a lake. Campfires. Sunshine. Crushing a workout. Lists. My niece and nephew. Michigan football. Sparkling wine. Card games with friends. Small plates. Anything mini. Gilmore Girls and F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Grocery shopping. Big blankets.

I’ve spent the last decade or so absorbing what people have to say about all aspects of health – nutrition, fitness, self-improvement. I hope to share this knowledge I’ve gathered with you guys to help you create the life you want, intentionally.
