Friday Five – Things I’m Loving #23

Happy New Year! Happy New Decade! Happy 2020! I hope you had a great holiday season and you’re ready for what 2020 brings. I know I am! This year, I get to plan my wedding and marry my best friend! Who knows what else is in store for us this year and decade, but I’m ready to take it on. Are you?

Here we go with five things I’m into this week!

Pearl barrettes

I got this set and this set from Target to mix and match shapes. This trend has all the Ainsley Howard vibes and I love it (Did you watch Four Weddings and a Funeral on hulu? I included it in Friday Five #7.).

Mixtiles

These printed photos come in a few different styles. I should have included these in my Decorating Tips for Renters post because they’re easy and don’t damage walls! I’ve rearranged this gallery wall a couple times, replacing photos (had to include my baby nephew when he was born!), and they still stick well after moving. Uploading photos on the app or website is easy and they also make great gifts. We got Hugh’s mom a set of 3 for Christmas this year with photos from her Facebook! They frequently email out promo codes, so I suggest joining their mailing list or Googling codes.

Salad kits

Bagged salad kits are a convenient, veggie-filled lunch option. I found a couple organic options at Fresh Thyme, but see these kits in most grocery stores. You can easily replace components you don’t want (like the wonton strips or sugary dressing), build it up with cheese or a protein, or have as is! I love the ones that are chopped up or include unusual veggies I wouldn’t typically include myself like shaved Brussels sprouts or cabbage.

Headspace for sleep

I’ve shared the meditation app Headspace before (in Friday Five #12), but I’ve recently gotten into their Sleep section. There are short exercises to help shut down your mind and body and longer “Sleepcasts” that mix smoothing white noise scenes with narration that kind of lulls you to sleep. I sometime struggle to calm my mind and fall asleep, and Headspace has helped me a lot! You can get a free 14-day trial using this link (I may get something if you end up signing up – FYI!).

“Future Mrs McCarthy” glass

These were an engagement gift from my cousin and I’m obsessed! Still can’t believe I’ll be Mrs. McCarthy later this year!

Okay that’s five! Have a fantastic first weekend of 2020!
