Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you’re getting to spend this holiday with your family and eating yummy food. I was looking through photos from my family’s Thanksgivings and thought I’d share some of the fun turkey-shaped appetizer spreads we’ve made. Thank God for Pinterest, right?
Disclaimer: My mom executed a lot of these.
Turkey Veggies Trays
2017: Turkey in Profile
We followed instructions from Living Locurto and made it very similar to hers. Carrots cut into legs, olive sliver for an eye, and a piece of radish for a gizzard. Too cute!
2015: Pepper-headed Turkey
Another cute veggie tray! This one was inspired by Eating With Food Allergies. The legs are celery and beak and gizzard are slices of pepper!
We made another last year that looked like this one from the Lindsay Ann, but lost the photo of it. If you like dip with your veggies, this is a great one.
Turkey Fruit Tray
2014: Fruity Turkey
This tray was inspired by Not My Own Life Blog. This is probably the easiest because the head and turkey features are paper!
Turkey Cheese Ball
2014: Crazy Eyes Tom
We were clearly ambitious our first year with both a fruit tray and cheese ball shaped like turkeys! We got this recipe from Handmade in the Heartland. The neck is a beef stick, gizzard is cut up red Fruit Roll-Up, and crazy eyes are for cake and cookie decorating.
Turkey Pumpkin Pie
Okay, so this one isn’t an appetizer. But it was so fun to bring to my first Thanksgiving with Hugh’s family. I followed the instructions from Kudos Kitchen. And isn’t his grandma’s pecan pie BEAUTIFUL? I need to learn how to make her deep dish recipe.
Have YOU ever made something like this?
I’d love to see your fun Thanksgiving spreads! Even if it’s not as extra as these! What is your fam having?
