TGIF! We’re headed to the airport to fly to St Louis for the holiday weekend. If you didn’t know, I went to college in St Louis and we still have some friends that live there. And family! It should be a fun weekend.
Here’s a few things I’m into these days. I’d love to hear from you, too! Here we go!
Harvest Salad
I usually stick with super simple salads, but the past couple weeks, I’ve put together this fun harvest-inspired salad. I looked at a couple recipes on Pinterest and kinda combined them. This one had mixed green, pomegranate seeds, roasted beets, roasted delicata squash, herb goat cheese, waluts, and a simple vinaigrette. I added shredded chicken when we had a rotisserie chicken for dinner one night. My Meal Prep Recipe Roundup earlier this week has more ideas like this one to take a little extra thought and get meals prepped ahead of time!
The Hollis Company
The Hollis Co is Rachel (and now her husband Dave’s) company. You may have heard of her from her book Girl, Wash Your Face. I love following them on Instagram and learning about their awesome small company culture. Rachel and Dave make a lot of great content (can’t wait for Dave’s book next spring) in the self development and business spaces. I mentioned the gratitude practice from their Start Today Journal and several RISE and RISE Together episodes on other Friday Fives.
Traverse City Wine Country
Last Saturday, Hugh and I drove up to Traverse City and explored Old Mission Peninsula. It’s this skinny little strip of land between East and West Grand Traverse Bays that’s pretty much all vineyards, cherry orchards, and beautiful views. We checked out 5 or 6 wineries for wine tastings and samples. It was beautiful! There are so many more – we’ll be back for sure.
Food Huggers
I got a few of these food-keeping Food Huggers last year and love them! It saves a bunch of Ziploc bags for half-lemons, partly cut zucchini or cucumbers, or on top of an open can. They even have ones shaped for half avocados with the seed! I got ours from Thrive Market (which I mentioned in Friday Five #3 and my post about Food Labels), but I’ve seen them at natural food stores like Fresh Thyme and Whole Foods, too.
Our bowling team
Hugh and I are in a social bowling league for six weeks with two other couples. Our league is organized by Better Off Bowling, which has locations around the country. Lots of local bowling alleys have leagues, too! It’s a fun way to spend Thursdays and nice to have a weekly commitment to seeing friends.
Okay that’s five! Time to get going to STL! Have a fantastic weekend, friends.
What are YOUR Friday Five?
Share some things you’re loving in the comments! I’d love to hear about what’s bringing you joy.
