Friday Five – Things I’m Loving #27

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week! Between my nephew’s first birthday party tomorrow and the Super Bowl on Sunday, this is gonna be a fun weekend! What are you up to?

I’m writing this a little late this Friday, so I’m gonna get right into my list. This is what I’m loving this week!

Imperfect Foods

Imperfect Foods is a company trying to help address the issue of food waste. The standards for food getting into a regular grocery store are really stringent. Imperfect Foods takes produce that is ugly or slightly damaged, products that have an expiration date coming up, or rebranded packages and sells them rather than throwing it all away. We started a subscription box and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s fully customizable (as in you can pick every item you get) and easy to skip weekly delivery. A designated driver delivers the boxes rather than using the mail, so you can also return the packaging and freezer packs to reuse!

Fuzzy coats

This trend is so cozy and fun. I got this blush colored fuzzy coat from Macy’s and love seeing other faux furry jackets and coats. They honestly just make me smile.

This Monday’s She Podcast episode

This podcast is pretty new to me, but I’m loving the episodes with Jordan and her husband, Matt. They talked about some interesting topics this week, check it out!

Fab4 smoothies

I mentioned Kelly LeVeque’s book Body Love a few weeks ago on Friday Five #25. The core of her eating plan is the Fab 4 – protein, fat, fiber, and greens. An easy way to get these 4 in a meal is to include them all in a smoothie! I’ve been starting my day with one 3-4 times per week and have loved it. You can change up flavors and ingredients a ton, but they keep you full for hours!

Real Chili Cheese Dip

Hugh requested chili cheese dip for his birthday last week and I just couldn’t bring myself to cook with Velveeta “cheese.” I found a recipe that made it with real ingredients like shredded cheese and milk and it was delicious! I included this recipe and a bunch of others in this week’s Super Bowl Recipe Roundup post – check it out!

Okay, that’s my Five this week! Have a great weekend. Go Chiefs!
