Happy Friday! In case you missed my post earlier this week, I’m home! It’s been pretty challenging to transition back to my normal job and the working from home life, but I’m so grateful to be home.
Can you believe it’s May already? I feel like new months can be a good excuse to give yourself a fresh start. Today wasn’t a great start, but the night isn’t over and there’s always tomorrow, right? I got myself to right this post, that’s something! Here we go with this week’s Five…
Fitness Junkie
This novel by Lucy Skyes and Jo Piazza is a really fun read! The characters are unique but related as they explore some outrageous health and wellness trends in Manhattan. It pokes fun at the fitness industry, but in a funny, light-hearted way.
Isopure Protein Powder
For the past year or so, I’ve been trying different protein powders trying to find one with clean ingredients that tasted okay. That’s a tall order apparently! I finally gave in and ordered Isopure, the product I used when I first started counting macros and needed the extra protein boost to hit my goals. It’s so yummy, even just with water! I’ve been adding it to smoothies. My favorite combo this week tastes like a blueberry muffin: frozen banana slices and blueberries, avocado, spinach, nut butter, vanilla protein powder, unsweetened almond milk, and cinnamon. I like that Isopure is zero carb so it’s just adding protein and I can load up on nutritious carbs from fruits and nuts in the smoothie.
Upload
This new TV show on Amazon Prime is such a clever concept. It’s set in 2033 when people can be “uploaded” to virtual reality resorts and avoid death. I was laughing out loud at some of the references! I don’t always love dystopian stories, but this one is great.
Homemade Pasta
Last Friday, I shared Shape of Pasta on Quibi and was clearly inspired! Our date night this week was Italy-themed – a mezze platter (prosciutto, cheese, etc.), spritz cocktails, and homemade fettuccini with garlic cream sauce and scallops. It was really fun trying to make new things together. We’ll definitely be making more pasta – it was pretty easy! And we need to try the scallops again to get them right…
Being home with Hugh
I won’t make this too sappy, but I’ve been so happy to be back home with Hugh. I made the most of hotel life (did you read this week’s post about it?) and the project was incredibly fulfilling, don’t get me wrong. I just also really love spending quality time at home with him!
Okay, that’s my Five this week! Gotta go shower and figure out what to do with the rest of the evening/weekend…
How are you doing this week?
How’s quarantine going for you? Have you tried making anything new? I’d love to hear from you. Comment below or reach out! We’re in this together.
