Friday Five – Things I’m Loving #42

Happy Friday, friends! How was your week? Mine was a little blah, but this afternoon I finished Insanity Max:30! In case you’re unfamiliar, it’s an 8-week workout program on BeachBodyOnDemand lead by iconic fitness couch, Shaun T. This program is 30 minutes five days per week and requires no equipment. Having the consistent 30-minute videos really helped me stay grounded through the crazy few weeks of the ventilator project and transitioning back to my normal job at home. It was definitely insane!

What are you up to this weekend? Weekends don’t feel that much different than weekdays during quarantine, but I’m trying to brainstorm activities for tomorrow. My post with 33 Things to Do at Home During Coronavirus Self-Quarantine was a great starting point, but I’m looking for something new and fun! Any suggestions?

Anyway, let’s dive into some things I’m loving this week!

Trader Joe’s

One simple joy I had this week was a trip to Trader Joe’s. We’ve been going to the Meijer next to our apartment complex since quarantine started (along with getting groceries on Thrive Market, Butcher Box, and Imperfect Foods), but I really missed TJ’s! There was a short line to get inside, but it was so worth the 15-minute wait. I stocked up on our favorites, got some bright-colored flowers, and picked out some new wines.

Chopped salads

Something about the veggies in salads being cut into tiny pieces makes salads so much more enjoyable! I filled our largest mixing bowl with a bunch of vegetables (romaine lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, red onion, tomatoes, and summer squash), mixed in some feta cheese and vinaigrette, and had salads all week long! I find it so much more likely for me to eat veggies throughout the week if they are just as easy to grab as something snacky.

The Enneagram Journey podcast

I listened to a lot of episodes of the Enneagram Journey podcast this week. You may have seen this in my post about podcasts. Suzanne Stabile is considered the “Godmother of the Enneagram” and co-wrote what should be your first dive into the Enneagram – the Road Back to You.

Tan Luxe drops

I know I just shared another self tanner a few weeks ago, but I’ve tried a new one and love it even more! These drops get added to any body lotion so you can choose how intense the darkness is. I’m still figuring out the best way to do my ankles and hands, but definitely recommend them. I got the Body and the Face as a special on HSN, but you can also get the Body and a glow serum or just the drops on several other sites.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Hugh made us Chicken Tikka Masala for the first time yesterday and it was so delicious! And it made the whole apartment smell amazing. He used coconut cream instead of heavy cream and changed up a couple of the spices. We will definitely be making more Indian dishes in the future.
