Happy Friday! How was your week? We’re in full-blown Michigan spring here – sunshine and high-60s one day, snow the next (eye roll).
There hasn’t been a lot going on in our world this week, just work and normal COVID life. I was in the office all week, but get to WFH today for a virtual workshop. We’re doing a little at-home date night tonight and have some little projects around the house planned over the weekend. Here are this week’s Five!
Hold the Cone mini ice cream cones
These (adorable) mini ice cream cones from Trader Joe’s are the perfect little sweet treat! I usually have two at a time and that’s less than 200 calories. I have the chocolate chip ones this week – very chocolately and delicious! Highly recommend.
Life’s Too Short by Abby Jimenez
I listened to this book on Audible in literally one day this week. It’s technically part of a (great) series by Abby Jimenez, but stands alone fine. The chapter is narrated by the alternating perspectives of the main characters (including alternating voices on the audiobook), which I love. It’s a cute story with some heavier topics like chronic disease, addiction, and family dysfunction mixed in. I recommend all of Abby Jimenez’s work (as seen in Friday Five #52).
My new Buick Encore GX
After 14 months of sharing and using Hugh’s Nissan, I finally got myself another Buick! It was getting really hard to keep pulling into work with a non-GM vehicle. I chose a 2021 Encore GX, which is brand new this year. I’m excited to have a bunch of cool safety features and fun new tech!
Alive app and workouts
My friend, Audrey, introduced me to this really well-done workout app by Whitney Simmons and I started one of the programs this week with another friend! The app guides you through workouts including showing you videos of the moves and timing exercises or breaks. I like the guidance without an instructor talking throughout so I can listen to whatever I want (podcasts or music), but still get proded along in my workout. Plus, it’s a stunning app. Check it out! There’s a 7-day trial and many program options for both at-home and gym workouts.
McCarthy weddings
Hugh and I went to Texas a couple weeks ago for his cousin’s wedding. It was beautiful and so nice to spend time with the family. I got to know more McCarthys! Can’t wait for our own McCarthy wedding in September.
Okay that’s five things for this week! Have a great weekend, friends.
Is it spring where you are yet?
What’s the weather like by you? Have you been able to get outside more or is it still iffy? I’m so ready to spend more time outside and say goodbye to the cold.
I’d love to hear from you as always! Reach out or connect on Instagram.
