Happy Friday! A second Friday Five post officially makes this a series, right? I’m learning more and more about this blog stuff. There’s a lot out there! SO grateful for bloggers who blog about blogging.
Speaking of which, I started writing down five things I’m grateful for every morning this week. I’m sure I’ll end up writing a post about it, but even in these few days, I’ve already seen it really benefit my mindset for the day. We could all use a little more gratitude, don’t ya think?
HOWEVER, that’s not one of my things this week! Let’s get into it. This week, I’m loving…
Skimm’d From the Couch with Ann Curry
I’ve been listening to this podcast since their beginning in February 2018. theSkimm’s co-founders Carly and Danielle interview a different female leader every episode. They chat about their stories and struggles in their path to success. This week’s episode was with Ann Curry. Gotta be honest, I did not know who this was, just recognized the name (pst, she’s a majorly accomplished journalist). She had some unique perspectives and nuggets of advice.
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
Yum. Just yum. They’re mini and rich and delicious.
Walking during long calls
I’m always trying to find time throughout the day (especially the workday) to move. One way I’ve started fitting steps in while still being productive is taking walks during conference calls. This morning, I had a long one that I really only needed to listen in on, so I got 7000 steps in! And that vibrantly green path was so much prettier than my desk.
Infused water
Everyone knows we need to stay hydrated, but plain water can get so boring! This spring I started infusing my water to add some excitement. My favorites right now are cucumber and mint (spa vibes) or lemon and mint. Other good combos are lemon/lime, strawberries/cucumber, or watermelon/mint. BONUS: you get vitamins and other micronutrients while hydrating! You can also freeze the fruits or herbs in ice cubes to chill it all out.
Wine tasting on date night
My boyfriend and I are Wine Club members at St Julian (a Michigan-based winery with a tasting room near us). We get two bottles per quarter and complimentary tastings when we pick them up. The woman pouring for us this time was SO helpful and knowledgable! She had all kinds of suggestions based on our individual preferences.
I love doing flights or tastings because Hugh and I can get different things. He always wants to try everything barrel-aged. Me? Not so much. My favorite was the Unoaked Chardonnay. Trying new things together is a fun date night activity. Having shared interests, even with unique tastes, is an aspect of our relationship I think is really strong.
That’s my five this week! Have a good weekend, friends!
What are YOU loving?
Tell me what has made YOU smile this week! I’d love to hear from you!
