Friday Five – Things I’m Loving #50

#50. Wow! I can’t believe I’ve been writing these posts for almost a year.

I was kind of slow to get back into the groove of things this week coming back from a week Up North. Did you struggle after the holiday weekend? It seems like I’d have the working from home thing down by now, but I still find it hard to feel like a real person by the end of the week.

Okay, here are my Five for this week!

Hamilton

I warned you guys last week, but yes, Hamilton is totally worth the hype! It’s streaming on Disney+ and you have to check it out. Hugh and I have had a couple of the songs in our heads non-stop all week. It’s pretty long, so you may want to break it into two viewings. Also, this parody video is amazing.

Chipotle’s nutrition calculator

Hugh and I have been tracking macros, and Chipotle makes it really easy on the nights we get takeout! You can customize your order exactly like you can when ordering and it calculates all the macros, sugar, fiber, etc. Here’s the link.

My Spy

This super cute movie on Prime Video is kind of like the Game Plan, but with a CIA agent and the daughter of a target. This spunky 9-year-old girl softens the heart of the tough ex-special-ops solider. It’s funny, heart-warming, and fun. Highly recommend!

Buckets of Rain

This non-profit urban garden in Detroit is an incredible organization. I volunteered there with some of our interns today. They provide fresh produce to homeless shelters and tend to U-Pick gardens for the community. Weeding isn’t fun (especially in 90 degree heat), but chatting with the college student I’m mentoring and serving people in need for a few hours was great! I think I’ll be volunteering again on my own.

Sex and Vanity

Kevin Kwan (who wrote Crazy Rich Asians) released a new novel this week and I already finished it! I love how he paints such vivid pictures of opulence and creates lively and fun characters. I hope this book becomes a movie, too.

Have a great weekend, friends.

Have you watched or read anything good lately?

I’m reading a lot more and watching more movies lately – I’d love suggestions! Comment below!
