Hello, friends! Happy Friday! It’s finally solidly fall here in Michigan – I’m SO happy about it. Now it’s just time for the leaves to understand that and get colorful.
My Friday Five this week has some pretty broad things, but I tried to link useful resources to them so they can benefit you, too! Here we go.
Old favorites with old friends
I spent the weekend in Kansas City visiting friends and stuffing in as many of my favorite KC things I possibly could. Fave tacos at Mission Taco, Boulevard beer, brunch at Avenues, and Chicken N Pickle chicken and tots. It was great catching up with friends and coworkers in one of my very favorite places.
New experiences with new friends
This week was also filled with new things! I tried a really challenging pilates class at [solidcore] with a friend we met at our apartment pool this summer. I signed up through Class Pass, which is a subscription for credits you can use at tons of different fitness classes. It makes trying new studios really simple. This link gives you $40 off your first month (I may get a small commission if you sign up via my referral link FYI). Hugh and I also joined a bowling league with two other couples! So that’s what we’ll be doing Thursday nights for a few months – beer and bowling like it’s 1960 or something.
Califia Farms Pumpkin Spice Dairy Free Half-n-Half
I typically take my coffee black, but this coconut cream and almond milk creamer is so fallish and yummy. PSL but dairy free and no sugar added! I like it with STÖC cold brew coffee. I got it from Thrive Market (I may get a small commission if you sign up via my referral link), which was in my Friday Five #3. Highly recommend!
Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness
I know (and love) JVN from Queer Eye, so when I saw he had a podcast, I had to check it out! He brings in a huge variety of people to talk about whatever they are experts in. Jonathan is so entertaining and asks great questions. I’ve learned about random topics from issues like the insulin crisis and global warming with Bill Nye the Science Guy, to the importance of sunscreen and snakes. Told you they were random!
Shout Color Catcher Sheets
Emily Ley wrote about these sheets in her book Grace Not Perfection. She uses them so she doesn’t have to sort laundry and can throw in a load every day. I have always been a meticulous color-sorter, but I’m understanding the appeal of having all the laundry done every few days. These sheets absorb all the color in the washer water so the clothes are protected! You can wash white stuff with blue jeans no problem.
That’s five! Time to get on with this Friday so the weekend can begin. Have a great one!
What are YOU loving this week?
Have you tried anything new this week? I challenge you to do something outside your comfort zone! I’d love to hear what you’re up to.
